Nitty Gritty

I currently run 5 types of session:

  1. Introduction to Nordic Walking
These sessions usually last 2 to 3 hours.
    No experience is necessary.
Full instruction is given in the health walking technique.
Feedback is given to enable students to progress at their own pace.
Pole hire is included in the price.
Some Introductory sessions are aimed at Non-walkers to allow you to access the outdoors using the Nordic technique as a beginning to getting fit, recovering from illness, pregnancy or injury.
Other Introductory sessions are for Regular Walkers so the speed and duration is usually higher as students already walk good distances at steady speeds and want to incorporate the Nordic technique to enhance their experience.

  2. Monthly Nordic Walk
These walks are aimed at those who have Nordic Walked elsewhere or who have done an introductory session with meYour Nordic technique will be observed and tweaked where required but the emphasis is on the outdoor walking experience of that month and season rather than technique per se.
You are welcome to bring your own Nordic Poles if you have them – Trekking poles are not recommended.

  3. Kielder Regulars
I run a 1 – 1½ hour morning session at 09:30 on Fridays for local villagers wanting to walk regularly using the Nordic Technique.
There is a small charge for pole hire (if needed) and sessions are open to anyone who has done my Introductory course.
  4. Bespoke Sessions
If you cannot find the right session for you or you want some specific tuition at a time and date to suit get in touch – if  I am not serving Breakfast at the B&B then I can probably accommodate you. Ring or email to discuss your requirements.
  5. Nordic Walking Holidays
In association with “Twenty Seven B&B” and new for 2011 . I have some exciting weekend holiday courses lined up. A full days training followed by a grand days promenade around the Park – see Nordic Walking Holidays page or get in touch for more details.
